LONDON, April 4 — Chelsea moved up to fourth in the Premier League as Enzo Fernandez’s decisive goal secured a 1-0 victory over struggling Tottenham, intensifying the pressure on Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — Police and enforcement officers from the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) continue to maintain strict control at the entrance of Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, following last Tuesday’s gas pipeline fire.
A survey by Bernama at the Incident Command Post (PKTK) found that only enforcement officers and personnel from involved agencies—such as the Drainage and Irrigation Department, Public Works Department, and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM)—were permitted to enter the area. Tents have been set up for media practitioners at PKTK and the Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple in Putra Heights.
Today, fire victims will be allowed to return to their homes in phases to retrieve important belongings and documents.
Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that recovery efforts in the affected areas would proceed in stages following the completion of safety inspections. A total of 85 houses have been deemed safe, allowing residents to return home starting yesterday.
Amirudin stated that investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing, involving multiple agencies. An initial report on the findings is expected to be released today.
The fire at the Petronas gas pipeline, which ignited at 8:10 am on Tuesday, sent flames soaring over 30 meters high, with temperatures reaching up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly eight hours before fully extinguishing it.
The powerful explosion also left a massive crater at the site, measuring 9.8 meters deep and 21 by 24 meters wide. — Bernama
